The seller sent me only 1 frame while in the description it was mentioned that the item was going to be shipped with a white and a black frame. The quality is very poor. This time I was really disappointed by the seller and I strongly advice not to but this item as it's a complete waste of money

COBY has the worst technical support ever. Thankfully the product interface is simple and if you try, and try and try again with file sizes, you do get to a reasonable end result, but if you try to call their technical support line, you will be very disappointed.

Their only response is "It's not a digital TV, so don't expect much". Don't waste your time with a phone call to them, do your research on the web, even the info in this forum is more complete than at the COBY help line. I did buy and give 3 of these for Xmas, but I would never buy again from COBY and would tell others to avoid them too.

This frame worked for 6 months and then wouldn't turn on no matter what I did. I had saved my receipt, and I called Coby customer service and was told (by the most bored customer service rep ever) that the warranty was for 90 days and that I had no options. I will do my homework before buying another digital picture frame, and purchase one with a better warranty.

Just turn it on, insert the preloaded card of your choice, select that card via the remote or keys on the side of the frame (you have to do that because you can have one of four different types of cards inserted at one time), then select slideshow and viola! It will automatically scale down any large photos, which either have to be in JPG or BMP format. It does not automatically rotate them to fit the orientation of the frame, but you can do that manually with the remote control (though you can't save that preference in the frame).

However, after spending a few hours scanning photos and resizing them per manufacturer's specification, I kept receiving an error for the USB driver when I tried to plug the frame into my computer for download. I phoned tech support, searched the web and even called some tech savvy friends and no one could help me. Eventually I gave up and opened a second one which I could download into immediately.

Also, the delay between two photos in slideshow mode cannot be set to less than 5 seconds. I sometimes find that too long, especially when I just want to flip through a collection. You always have the option of buying a low-range photo frame from Walmart for $50-60 or go for the high-range ones for $180-200, like Philips.

I use Photoshop and the slide show absolutely would not show photos that were saved in the Progressive mode. If the photos were saved in Baseline mode there was no problem. It took a couple of hours of using the process of elimination to figure that out.

Compare that with some of the other frames which cannot play directly from the cards and require you to copy material to the frame itself which usually have 256mb or less of memory. Who wants to do that? This way, you can just send your parents a cheap 1GB SD card preloaded with pics in the mail if you wanted to.

The third issue we are having is we can't play video on this frame. It says that it does AVI and MP4 (Mpeg4), but no matter what setting I use to export the movie out of iMovie '08, I can't get the video to play. ---THE GOOD---

I have not tried this yet. The frame has adjustable volume (for music and video) and easily adjustable brightness (via a wheel knob on the frame).
