I called the phone activation number and they cant activate it. The product is going to be returned and if the store where I purchased it refuses I will contest the credit card bill. Keep in mind thay you are purchasing a licence and if microsoft refuses to give use of the product your money must be refunded.

With maps that aren't keeping up and the program having the one-computer limitation, I may quit buying yearly versions. A difficulty I have had for many versions is the printout of maps after a route plan has been run.

With many calls for support. I can't find any way to contact Microsoft my program doesnt provide a 800 number for support. Just a web site where you are told how to spend more money on upgrades.

They have eliminate the avoid area function or select area function by boxing an area and use the point to move the map, instead of selecting. They have added Live Maps; Live Search using internet, I am not always using or accessing the web for this to function properly.

It is not worth paying for the same features you get on Yahoo Maps. In the NYC area commercial vehicles are not allowed on the Garden State Parkway or the Holland Tunnel. I thought with this program one could tell it to avoid those routes.

I purchased S&T 2008 to replace S&T 2006. I was disappointed to find that the street on which I purchased my current home in Jul, 2004 is not included in the map database.

When I called to ask for help installing the software, I spent less than five minutes on hold. The customer service agent transferred me to a tech, who in less than three minutes diagnosed the problem as a damaged disk, and transferred me again to someone who made arrangements to sent me a new disk. It took about eight days to arrive, longer than ideal, but it still all worked out.

If I could return opened box software I would. I guess this will be the last time I buy S&T.

I was very disappointed with this 2008 version because there was a problem with installation. I had to speak with a respresentative in India in order for him to take control of my computer and find a file to load in order to continue the installation. That should not happen in this day and time from a software giant like Microsoft.

Activating the MSN Direct Receiver is also problematic telling me that the version of the software doesn't support it. (Huh? They came in the same box!) Online subscription-ware is something that makes life difficult for me.

It does take a little getting used to as far as moving around and zooming in and out. One thing that I would like to see is more road coverage for other countries. Except for Canada it only shows cities, but no roads.

From time to time it will guide you to roads that are either closed or simply not there.
