I am dismayed that it is already broken, does not turn on. I checked and since I did not buy an extended warranty I had to contact the manufacturer who referred me to a television repair store that will repair it and I will have to pay a minimum of $65 for an estimate. I would expect a television that I paid $1400 for to last longer than 18 months or for Amazon to offer some assurance that it would last.

Samsung is THE worst excuse for a retailer ever. Do yourself a favor and spend a few $$$ extra and get a GOOD set. We think Samsung is junk and their customer service is terrible.

It worked fine for just over a year (long enough for the warranty to expire) and then it started making a grinding noise and quit. The repair estimate is $600. We got just over a year out of it and now it's not worth fixing.

Samsung "arraigned" for a repairman to fix it. Their idea of a repair man was a guy driving his beat-up personal van. He had to take it to his "shop" to repair it.

And for channels not on HD, you can make the picture normal instead of distorted.
