Sadly, they are out of stock and will only do a refund. We cannot touch this tv anywhere else for the price we got from Amazon, so I guess we will not be reordering. If you buy a tv that is not a lemon, the picture is great, but I cannot recommend it in good faith after our experience.

They said that they would contact a repair company that they contract with and arrange for the tv to be looked at 2 days hence. When we contacted the repair company, they were very put out. They said they had a full schedule, and that they could not come out until Wed.

When you call into Amazon to get the problem resolved they tell you to call samsung which is unacceptable for a defective part. After about 5 calls into them they finally are returning my product as they no longer have any in stock. Get ready for some headaches if you have a defective out of box set.

We needed to get a firmware update and then we still had problems with it. Luckily because of that we were able to return it for a refund and then ordered the LNT4669 instead. That's the same TV with a mat screen.

Like I said, it's not a deal breaker IMO, but it's still buggy nevertheless. 1/2 star taken off for Amazon's poor customer service. This isn't Samsung's fault, of course, but it has to be said.

Samsung customer services suggested that I replace the HDMI cable, but it was not really a cable problem because when the audio dropped out, the chime (during power on/off) did not work either. My second phone call to Samsung convinced them that they need to send a service technician. He showed up as promised, but he did not have any firmware upgrades or spare parts of this brand new model.

I would tap on the back and that would fix it. I contacted Samsung and they sent a tech to my home. After troubleshooting it they found that it needed a new LCD screen.

We asked about the price match and were told that it only applies to brick and mortar stores and not on line. The TV was a breeze to set up from wall mounting to cable runs--we went with a Onkyo TXSR605 with HDMI pass through. power and 1 cable to the tv--it almost seems like a waste of all of the inputs, but easier--me like easy very much.

I called about it and they pretty much just laughed at me, I think the lady thought I was making it up...they said you have to wait 3-6 mos before a credit limit will be given. The folks at Amazon will not let you split up your payments with two payment options so it does indeed appear that unless you are going for a smaller TV you cannot easily do the 18mos offer with this 46" LCD. That's too bad because I think it's a great TV but I guess I'll have to look at other options.

Also, AMP may cause artifacts to show up when it is on. Other problems with this TV: some panels with dead pixels and Samsung has a lax policy on this as you need a certain number of dead or stuck pixels or several together to get a replacement. Some TVs have issues with light bleeding through the edges or poor backlighting.

I initially noticed that the images of cars and football helmets seemed wider than normal but that seems to have corrected itself over a short period of time. I've also been told that it will be corrected when I get actual hd channels.

I was watching ERAGON on PS3 Blu-Ray and I could notice really fine details on this LCD (like the wormlike movements on the bad guys' faces) that I did not catch on my 1080i CRT set with 480p DVD. hd source from DirecTV did not look as good, but it really depends on the channel, e.g., HBO hd looks much better than the CBS local hd. OTA local channels look better than DirecTV locals for some reason and did not seem to have the triple-football effect that I noticed when watching football via the DirecTV receiver.

The detail in the hd image is remarkable-- you see blades of grass in a football game, or the grain of the court in B-ball. It is true that prices have trended downward due to competition, but I am glad that we waited no longer to go hd. While some of those 60+ hd channels currently available (more are being added regularly) on DISH we would not watch, it is EASILY worth the $20 a month service fee for these in hd for US-- Sci., Nat Geog., A&E, Animal, ESPN I AND II, TLC, DISC, TNT, TBS, HIST, HBO, the hd NET stations, etc.

Friday night I watched Ultraviolet in hd with Mila Jovovich which is a horrible movie but very colorful and I was downright blown away by the color, clarity and image reproduction the Samsung has. I kept getting up and going closer to the TV to see imperfections on peoples skin.

The definition of images in hd are so vibrant an intense that it is almost a "surreal experience". Be prepared for a little bit of a let down when you return to non-hd programming.

There is only one known issue (as of Oct 2007): The TV needs to be set to Game Mode to watch football or soccer. This is a simple On/Off setting in the Setup menu. If the TV is not in Game Mode then football passes or long kicks often (about 50% of the time) exhibit a triple-ball effect.

I went to a Local store the price was 3200. I check in Amazon 2432 with the 30 days price cut money back guaranty, I knew I could not go wrong.

They even refunded some money when the price went down over the holidays. The TV itself is really good. We did some research in a retail store and compared it with others with similar features, in the same range.

I had the Amazon Visa with way more than enough credit limit to cover it only to find out that this offer is only available with the Amazon STORE Card...they're not the same card. So, I applied for the store card (I have good credit) and just like the other reviewer was only given $1700 limit which obviously will not be enough to cover the $2150 price tag.

Honestly, I would have opted for a comparable Sony if the price was right; but that's not going to happen.

Did everything I would ask for and even recieved the tv 2 days early. My dad wants one now, only thing is he doesnt want to pay more than I did, and has been waiting 2 months now for the price to drop.

The reason I gave only 4 stars is because I think the sound quality is poor. It seems like Samsung has put everything into making a great display, while not concentrating on the sound at all.

The black levels are to die for, the image quality is too. I ran it through the calibration material on the Digital Essentials disc and even without color tweaking the color reproduction on this TV was near perfect, better than my CRT!!! I decided to not even bother tweaking the color values further as they were already so close.

PS - I want to add also that even though there is a "game mode" you only have to use it for 480i sources. Any game system that can run in 480p (Wii, 360, PS3) or up does not appear to suffer from any noticeable lag with normal settings. This is good considering that the image quality is much better with game mode off.

I have the TV for about a month and it continues to deliver. The sound is its only limitation. The quality is acceptable, but not as impressive as my Sonys.

Having said that - I am not sure about the quality of circuits in it. Within a few weeks of owning this TV - it went dead.

I can tell you that I do not watch TV but because of the quality of the picture, now my wife and I spend an hour or so watching some of the HD channels daily. Also, I never watch football, but with this TV I do not mind to see a few minutes of it in HD.

You can try to save some money by getting the same size tv from other companies, but the quality will not be remotely close.

I am sure either way would have been fine. I read that plasma TVs have a wider viewing angle, but I have not found any problems with the LCD. I am able to literally sit on the very side of the TV and not have any quality loss.

When watching HD television channels, some are obviously more compressed, using poorer-quality cameras, and otherwise not as well produced as others.

All in all, I am extremely happy with the customer service & LCD quality. Since nobody else on this forum had the audio problem that I did, I am guessing I got a bad apple.

REMEMBER.."The picture we see is only as good as it's worst component."

The TBE was there but very subtle during gaming, and it disappears completely when I turned on game mode. The picture is amazing on blu-ray and gaming, but Standard definition requires a lot of calibration to get it just right. As for the AMP function, don't use it on standard definition, it's really bad.

I purchased the refurbished unit for $1714. When Eagle was delivering it and setting it up i thought it was a brand new unit. There isn't a scratch on it and it the picture is alot better than my plasma 50" I never liked LCD's before i seen this unit in CC.

As it moves on screen, the image of the ball shows a repeated image of it's front (nose) and rear (tail) on either side of it. Most folks will see this triple image, some might just see it as an exaggerated blur (but the triple image is clearly visible when the playback is paused). This should be fixable by a firmware update, and turning on Game Mode fixes it as well, so it's not a big deal.

(The only thing is that Game Mode turns on some image sharpening that is ok with sports, but is not great with cartoons. So, I use Game Mode when watching football and turn it off for regular viewing.

Please do remember that even with AMP off, this TV is still running at 120hz and therefore the image is still smoother and more "3D" than other TVs. I am giving this TV a rating of 4 for the following reasons: 1/2 star taken off because the AMP issue is something that should have been fixed prior to putting this TV on the shelf.

You should see detail in the dark suit jackets, but the shadowed areas on the set should remain rich black). Then adjust the Contrast just to the point that pure white objects (like lights or reflections off of football helmets) are white. You can tweak the contrast up from this point to give the image some snap, but don't go too high (the image can look harsh or washed out).

I was a little skeptical about buying such a big ticket item from Amazon but for no good reasons. I've been an Amazon customer for years and have never been disappointed. I received the TV on Jan 7th from Eagle Global Logistics and they are real good.

I've worked retail in the past, that made no sense, but what makes even less sense is trying to argue with some guy in India about it. Terrible customer service.

This Antenna works better than the old indoor antenna I had and is pretty cute too. One word of advice, do not pay for local channels to cable or your Satellite company.

Thankfully, the unit was not damaged. I do not have cable or sattelite. I used an old RadioShack Antenna to get the San Francisco off air channels.

Sound ok, but could be better. Love the HDMI connections. I have a cable company DVR connected plus a Samsung Upconverting DVD Player.

Per my son, though we did not try cable HD, cable HD would be significantly less appealing due to the diminished signal-- it has the same limitations of cable versus satellite period.

i was told there will be a snow effect, blurr in digital but i havent seen any yet. will write back after i get HD Hooked up by UVERSE" AT AND T HAS HD cable NoW. GREAT DEAL Too.

My HD cable channels rarely broadcast at 1080i and Fox is always 720p, even for sports. Hopefully the Super Bowl will be an exception for them. Xbox 360 frame rates on certain games cannot keep up with the refresh rate so there is ocassional skipping, but you cannot blame the LCD.

Clearly I did not consider how reflective this screen was until after it was purchased. We are not really into games, so the biggest reason for getting an LCD was to avoid the glare that you get with a plasma. The second issue was with the 120Hz.

I placed it in my bedroom but thinking of just switching out with my living room TV. The only issue is the very reflective screen surface otherwise it's not a big deal for me since I don't have any direct light on it.

But just like every new technology I was not sure how reliable was going to be. The only I was scare about this TV it was the shiny screen that reflect to much light during day time. and it does But its not a problem for me I watch movies at night most of the time.
