This product is junk it does not support DVDs from any other country except the US . Did not support our family vacation DVD from Asia. Sony a global company ,not so.

90 day warranty has expired (by 1.5 months) and Sony will send you a refurbished model for $33 or fix yours for $126. Refurbished means other broken models that they have fixed and now will send to you. Very funny costs since I paid $189 for mine.

The problem is even with my BOSE headset- you can not get the volume up high enought to hear it on a plane. Even not being on the plane- volume is terrible. Speaker volume is really poor also.

For some entertainment, we got her an el-cheapo brand (Craig?) that had a much smaller screen, didn't look or sound so good, and worst of all, would hardly play for an hour off battery power, and would even stop unexpectedly when plugged in.

This DVD player stopped projecting in color after the 2nd movie. You have to pay to send it back and Sony will only replace it with a refurbished one. There is a minimum 2 week turn around time.

After complaining about this I was told that they would pay for 75% of the repair cost. Now I can get a refurbished one for $33 or they can fix mine for $31. Figure that one out.

For such a nice looking device with its flip around screen and screen size, its a shame that the sound quality is so poor. I used this mostly on flights and can only say, I could hear nothing. I even tried noise cancelling head phones which were more difficult to carry than the player itself...

Swiveling the screen on the base moves it out away from the seat back. Sound without headphones is weak and of poor quality. Sound, volume and quality, through headphones is better than good, but will not reach ear shattering levels.

The DVD player worked fine the first couple of times I used it, just long enough for the store return policy to run out. Now it has this neat habit of locking up on every disc I play in it. I am not talking about old beat up discs, brand new discs experience this.

Also, after six months of use the motor is pausing seven or more times during a movie (always at the most dramatic turn of the plot it seems). I was so careful and gentle with this machine and it makes me so mad! Remember it's not 1986 anymore and Sony is no longer the hallmark of a quality machine.

I wouldn't recommend this product. I have had it for four months and already it freezes up and won't read discs. I was very disappointed in its performance.

If your movie is not dark, you'll still see it around the edges. It's not enough of a problem for me to take it back. But I am going to play with some ideas of how to make a frame for it so that the edges aren't as reflective.

I have had my shipment delayed 4 times with no guarantee of receiving before Christmas. If you are ordering as a Christmas gift, do not order from Amazon. I have purchased many items from them and they have been terrible with this order and only after 4 delays they now tell me this item is backordered.

The player is straight forward to operate and the display is sharp and functional for 2-3 viewers. We have not fully tested battery life but it will clearly plan more than one movie on a single charge.

Bought it in September 2007 and it worked until January 2008. Locks up when playing a disk. About 20 minutes into it actually.

CONS: This Machine is very good all round the only downside to it is the picture quality. What I mean by that is that the LCD screen is liney what i mean by that is that you can notice the vertical line (at least I do). The other thing that i noticed is that you have to have the screen in the direction of you otherwise it looks as though the picture is too dark or whatever.

The actual picture is fine, unless you have a dark part. Most of my movies aren't dark, but I was watching Batman yesterday and definitely noticed it.

I would recommend spending a little more and getting a larger screen with better resolution. It would make things far more enjoyable for the viewer. As it stands, I might try and sell it after this week.

Decent price for the pink one, good battery life, worked through a 2 hour flight then 3 1/2 hour car ride before dying on us, and having to plug it in. Comes with wall charger and car charger, the only thing missing is the AV cables, and those are easy enough to pick up anywhere... The remote works well from the front seat, don't even have to point it directly at the player for it to work, but it is a VERY large remote, considering it goes to a portable DVD, it's nearly as big as the remote to my home DVD player, but that's ok.

The unit is inexpensive, but it works as well as any expensive multimedia notebook computer, only the Sony offers a lot more battery life. I am averaging 4 hours of play time with headsets, as is the Sony unit. The image is bright, color is good and controls, remote or on-unit, are easy to use.

The finish doesn't show handling scratches and it drops right into a backpack. I have had no problems with the unit. Unfortunately, bad movies are still bad movies when viewed on the Sony, so Ground Hog Day is still almost painful to watch.
