I'm dissappointed that Tom Tom One doesn't say the name of the streets, but I can get over that. I guess the rental car Tom Tom was a different model than the one I purchased. Another disappointment was finding the same Tom Tom One on sale at an electronics store for $50 less a month after my purchase.

and the TOM TOM 1 3rd Edition is a VERY poor unit. Their choice of TeleAtlas mapping is very weak (doesn't even show many of the streets and a major 35 year old mall here in Bangor, Maine. Even after buying the $50 regional map for the northest...no improvement.

I assume that means digitally, not physically - but that would be cool too (and dangerous on the roads) - could lead to an insurance nightmare.

If the name of the street is important to you, either purchase the higher priced TomTom or the Garmin. If just being told to turn is acceptable to you, this unit will work well for you.

this prduct has no earthly value, it failed to function in english. i threw it into the trash can after 12 hours of frustation. when i called the maufacturer i tried to explain the problem.

The volume is going to be sufficiently loud enough for my father-in-law who sometimes doesn't hear everything. While it doesn't name out street names, it does speak to you about turns - giving you about a 500 yard warning and then when to turn.

I live in Las vegas and there is areas you do not want to get lose in. If any thing else i would buy it for safety reason. yes battry life is short 4 hours I dont plan on going hiking with it so its plug in all time in my car.

yes it reroutes very quickly. I refuse to listins to it beliveing it was takeing me the wrong way turn out I was wrong and rerouted me on steets i never hear of but got me right to where i was going. I also was in a round about and no clue what turn to take well it work like a charmed.

Yes the tomtom one has bluethoot and the new one does not. Some phones wiil work with it my does not but i can live with that. one more i like it show you you have to makke uturns.

I purchased another name brand and tryed to figure it out, my son came to my house three times to help me figure out how to work it. I gave up and gave it away!!! then I ordered my tom tom and got it figured out the first day.

If you use Bluetooth technology, then you can also have it communicate through your phone and calculate routes based on traffic and weather. I haven't used that feature - but it is available on this product. With the use of your phone - you can also track other friends who are doing the same thing - and that would make caravanning easier.

If not its plug in the my pc. The only downfall is at my age it hard to see the small screen with out reading glasses and can not drive with reading glasses so that where the voice comes in handy.

I brought my at a local auto store peboys for $119.00 No problem with updates software on there web site install tomtom software on pc connect to internet and it ask what update you want and that was it. Download and install and also back up to pc.
