There are three dynamic contrast settings in addition to an overall picture contrast setting, a backlight adjustment, a brightness adjustment, a gamma adjustment with a "B" drive level and a "G" drive level, shall I go on? Every adjustment will affect one or more of the others. I put the thing in "preference" mode and adjusted the "picture Settings" only.

After doing my due diligence in researching specs and reviews I purchased the Toshiba Regza 47" LCD. After being delivered I carefully followed all instructions and hooked up to my satellite service.

We were very hesitant to purchase such a large and expensive item over the internet, our previous purchases had been books and dvd's.

Even the picture with standard digital signal is much better than expected and when hooked up to a standard progressive-scan dvd player the picture is nearly that of HDTV quality. It has three HDMI inputs and two component input sets, probably enough to satisfy all of our needs.

We hooked up a Memorex 1080i Upconverting dvd player and our DVDs look fantastic.
