How it sucks
click term for excerpts - most relevant excerpts first11 months ago @ AmazonIts apparently very prevelant in this model, but I have not gotten much response from Sony for a post warranty fix and from what hear its close to $1000 to repair).
11 months ago @ AmazonI bought this hdtv in August 2007 after shopping for a hdtv for about 2 and a half years, mainly waiting for prices to drop and for 1080p models to come out instead of then current 720p models. It has been 5 months and I have NO bulb issues as of yet, but I have the bulb set to low power and do not turn it off and on frequently.
13 months ago @ AmazonScrew the Mitsubishi models, they have problems with a loud buzzing noise. Get this thing and get it today. You will not be dissapointed.
13 months ago @ AmazonAnd then I went to single player and this game looks unreal on 1080p. "Holy crap" is the only legitamate description and it's not enough to literate the true grandness of image quality.
13 months ago @ AmazonAfter that it started looking distorted, but I don't know anyone who wants to sit that far off center. You can layout your seating, spreading it out wider and wider as you get away from this thing.
11 months ago @ AmazonThe HDMI inputs on this set are 1.3 even though it is not mentioned anywhere in the description.
11 months ago @ AmazonAnyway, if you are looking for a decent DLP set with a big picture and dont need a lot of useless bells and whistles get down to CC and check this one out.
How it doesn't
click term for excerpts - most relevant excerpts first11 months ago @ AmazonThe clarity is unbelievable and it is very easy to set up as well as navigate the menus. I strongly recommend buying generic HDMI cables as I have seen no noticeable difference between the so called "high quality" ones and the generic. PS3 and my HD-DVD players both look great.
11 months ago @ AmazonI dont need PIP (comes with brighthouse DVR) and dont really care about sound since I pipe the cable/DVD audio to my reciever. I was just looking for a big, clear 1080p set. I saw this model in this week's circuit city flyer (Jan 27, 2008) for $1399!.
12 months ago @ AmazonThis Toshiba HDTV is outstanding. It's met all of my expectations, primarily a beautiful picture. This is my second large screen Toshiba set but first HDTV and I couldn't be more pleased.
13 months ago @ AmazonOver the years I have grown sick and tired of playing video games and watches movies on less than great TVs and decided to do some research and get a big one. This product is simply amazing. My video games have never looked so rediculously good.
11 months ago @ AmazonPlaying the Nintendo Wii is an experience all in its own. The set has a multitude of options for connecting any device you can think of except S-video but honestly, who ever used S-video? Can't say enough great things about this set.
11 months ago @ AmazonI researched a lot of HDTV's before choosing this one. I already own a Toshiba Theater view, which I am also happy with, I purchased years ago, so I trust the name. I use it for gaming as well, and it looks great.
11 months ago @ AmazonThis set appeared to have the best picture of all the projection units on the wall (with the exception of a Mitubisi 75" unit that the salesman said was playing a 1080p HD DVD). I measured it out, and with my existing tv stand it fit in the media space with about 1 inch to spare on all sides. We loaded it my truck and took it home.
11 months ago @ AmazonThe 1080p display is wonderful with an HDMI cable, I have this oneInspire 1080p (6.6ft) 2M HDMI PS3 Cable 1.3b Certified. Screen size is just the right size for watching football and using a PS3 for both gaming and Blu-ray movies.
12 months ago @ AmazonGreat Price, great picture, easy to set up. Moved up from a 46" screen, looks much larger in the family room than it did in the store!
11 months ago @ AmazonFirst let me say I am a Toshiba fan. I have 3 other Toshiba tube units, one 15 years old and still running. So far so good very good picture and a pleasure to watch.
11 months ago @ AmazonDelivery was excellent! No complaints.
12 months ago @ AmazonI decided to buy this Toshiba. In one word, "wow." The PQ looks great in blu ray or HDTV.
13 months ago @ AmazonThis thing even makes Playstation 2 and Gamecube games look amazing. I have my PS3 and 360 connected with HDMI, the Wii and Bose DVD system are on Component and they all look fantastic.
13 months ago @ AmazonSo far I have one couch and plan on moving to a different apartment so I can add a few more couches and chairs, each on their own risers to get the real home theatre experience going on. I brought my friend Wily over today and whooped his butt in some Wii Tennis. The expletives and amazement on the size and quality of this thing never ended.
13 months ago @ AmazonIt looks great, like an extension of the TV and holds all my peripherals nicely with no issue. Plenty of cable room. If you buy this TV you have to buy the official stand or you're shooting yourself in the foot.
11 months ago @ AmazonThis is my first HDTV. It's huge! I am very happy with it.
13 months ago @ Amazon(Oh and the built in speakers are great too, but I don't use them. I have bose home theater which is simply unreal in all aspects. I hope this review was helpful).
11 months ago @ AmazonThis television is absolutely phenomenal!!
11 months ago @ Amazon1080p ready for the future. Plenty of ports for me.
