Sure I like great graphics and sound, but to me a great game is something that is fun and takes my mind off the day to day junk that we all have. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is that game. The game immediately sucks you in.

So you may need to jump to something and not see it, or be getting shot at and not see where from till you take cover and manually aim, etc. There are also times where the camera will spin by itself into the worst possible position, this happens mostly while climbing leges and such but even sometimes while fighting. Another gameplay flaw comes later in the game when fighting the creatures.

In manual aim the character turns way too slow to keep up with their movements so the only way to fight them is run and gun in which accuracy is terrible, especially since you can't target anything specific as the only two stick controls are run and camera.

jumping from platform to platform, ledge to ledge may sound boring, but this game does the impossible task of making it actually fun. no matter how many times you jump from one decaying piece of ruin to the next, it will always feel like a new experience.

The puzzles and tasks in the game are sometimes challenging, but not impossible. They are just hard enough to keep you interested but not so hard that you just give up.

Uncharted Drake's Fortune is an unmistakable feat. It reaches to obtain a level of unseen cinematic gameplay & storytelling & not only reaches this level, but surpasses it. While each part alone will confound what you expect from the action/adventure genre, the sum of it's parts raises the bar not only of it's genre, but the cinematic bar of video games on a whole.

Go to itunes and sample the soundtrack for yourself. The voiceovers are pitch perfect as well, not only cause the game has a talented cast but because the cutscenes were filmed while the cast acted them out. So the voicing and motion capture were done at the same time and resulted in wonderful cinematic experience.

I would like to add one point: As a casual gamer, I often get frustrated with games as I don't have the time to learn dozens of controls, nor have the dexterity I once did. Plus, too often games get frustrating and I get stuck or bored by being forced to re-do too much when I fail at a mission.

When doing this you'll find he'll sometimes jump off at a diagonal for no known reason and miss the ledge and fall. It also gets tiring fighting wave after wave of enemies, though that's not all that annoying. It's more annoying and bewildering when you're supposedly opening secret hidden passages that haven't been opened in centuries to find enemies there already!!!

I don't know what it's officially called. It's almost like static interference which was completely unexpected after playing the demo. The screen seems almost unstable while moving the character around.

The story is very good, but not too good as to distract you from the game-play. The story keeps you interested throughout and the game does not get repetitive at all.

Black or blank squares would pop up throughout different chapters of the game. It was hit and miss, and did not occur when the programmed movies would come on. The squares were annoying because they mainly would show up during action - shooting times.

Sure the in-game story isn't 50hrs but the length is perfect for this game. If the game was much longer, instead of this game getting 5star reviews saying the game is a little short, it would be getting 3-4star reviews saying the game gets slow and drags on.

The main flaw is that the story, although brilliant, is pretty short; it took me about 10 hours to finish it. There are plenty of hidden rewards and treasures that make the game replayable, but I only wish that the storyline was longer. Also, despite the fact that there are some elements of a puzzle-game in Uncharted, it would have been perfect if there were some more, and more challenging puzzles to complete.

(I would have liked to give it 4.5 stars.) I'm constantly on the lookout for games that provide an immersive experience and that draw me in to the story and the action.

Sure alot of the game is repetitive, but it never gets boring. The graphics for this game really are next gen, and the vibrant colors make owing a HDTV all the better. I do have a few issues I would like to mention.

It is challenging, but not so challenging that it becomes frustrating. Good graphics.

You are on a hunt for treasure, you're trying to beat the bad guys to the loot, you're crawling around the jungle, having shoot outs, solving puzzles and exploring ruins....what's not to love?

One feature that really I liked was the full-screen uncluttered view, without any "status" indicators like with most other games. Game controls were intuitive and simple enough to move around, with on-screen help available only when necessary. Weapon cross-hairs and ammo levels only appeared when shooting and disappeared shortly after the action ended.

Gears of War plus Tomb Raider would be the easiest way of describing it but its so much more than that. gameplay is linear, but Naughty Dog pulls it off well. The AI is good. The tropical settings and ruins are amazing.

The story is simple but entertaining to the very end. The characters grow on you and you really care about them by the end. The gameplay is not revolutionary but that doens't mean it is not satisfying.

I'm playing the game on a 90" screen using a 720p projector and it's almost like I am actually standing there in the jungle.. Sadly, I had to deduct some points for not being able to save the game when you want to; it will only save to the last checkpoint anyway, and that becomes increasingly annoying as the 3rd person shooter aspect of the game almost takes over the game itself having you fight an unlimited number of zombies that will kill you instantly if they get close enough, which can be hard to avoid when reloading your gun... basicly, it took a bit of the fun out of it in the end, even on the easy-level, and what's the point of that?

You'll find yourself at the end of a cinematic not realizing you're back to controlling the character which is really cool. So overall despite it's issues I do like Uncharted, it was just more fun earlier in the game. If I could I would actually rate it 3 1/2 stars.

At certain points the dramatic use of music will make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end (Beware the Spaniards!). I bought this game for my kids, then made the mistake of picking up the controller to "check it out". Almost without blinking, I played straight through (10 hours!) and didn't get bored once.

I knew the console would be good and now it has proven itself. I heard the Uncharted only uses about 30% of the PS3's power, so the sequal to Uncharted should be even better, if it happens, and since this game was so good, I wouldn't be surprised. There wasn't really much to go on at the end of the game that would make you think of a sequal, but with ratings like this, it'll happen.

this game is real good it gets a little boring between chapters 12 and 16 but picks up to a great chapter 17 and on. i wont play it again after beating it but was worth every penny on the adventure that it brought to my imagination.

This is a great example of what the ps3 can do and in my opinion has saved it from being a bland system with nothing much to offer. Now the presentation isn't perfect. There is a bit of graphic tearing throughout the game and a few more little tedious stuff but nothing that really sticks out and ruins the experience.

If I had to really pick at it, I would say that the game was a tad bit short--still longer than Call of Duty 4, which btw, also deserves a 5-star rating. The DTS surround sound didn't work on my system. There was no sound so I had to disable some surround features of my sound system to hear the cut-scene dialog.
