I am assuming that there is something wrong with these. I contacted Ace Photo and Digital (Amazon's merchant rep for this product) to return them. They told me that I could not return opened merchandise...obviously I could not have listened to the earbuds without opening them!

They're better than the ipod earbuds since those don't provide any isolation but not even close to that of something like Etymotic Research ER6i Isolator In-Ear Earphones (White) the sound isolation of the V-Moda is marginal, it does a little bit but not very much. They're on par with other earbuds of this type.

If you exercise often and with the sweat, these may not work as well for you. (They would fall off as often as the ipod cheap ear pieces during exercise.)

I also tried some rock songs thinking that perhaps v-moda had a personal vendetta again electronic style music, but to my dismay, it was more of the same, and worse. Can you imagine a bass guitar drowning out ALL of the drums hi-hats and cymbals? Can you imagine a bass guitar drowning out all of the singing like it was staged under water?

Frustrated, I decided to try to find good in-canal earbuds, settling initially on the Sony EX81LP earphones. However, I was disappointed upon receiving them to discover that their maximum volume was not nearly as high as that of the earbuds I had been using and that the basses were unusually weak, giving the sound an unattractively brassy quality.

I own some Noise Canceling Headphones which basically produce white noise in order to drown out external noise. With that technology, battery power is necessary. However, these earphones do not require batteries to turn down external noise.

The downside of the heavy bass is that if you're not a bass addict, you will most likely not like these. These earphones are for the people who enjoy deep bass. If you're a person that likes earphones that have balanced low, mid, and high frequencies, you will possibly not enjoy the quality of these.

I just hope that the durability of the V-MODA out lasts my SONYs - it will be a wait and see. I would recommend these to someone that is looking for something different than iPods or SONYs ear buds. But with V-MODA, they need to still work on the sound quality.

Despite the good customer reviews for this product, I was still shocked at the premium sound quality they deliver. The earbuds are comfortable and simply due to their design have quite a bit of intrinsic noise canceling.

Unfortunately, the sound quality isn't as clear as the Sonys, nor is the bass as solid. The fit on these isn't bad, the swappable ear pieces is nice (the Sony comes with that as well). I've never found a use for that crummy little thing you wrap the cord around.

These produced so much bass with my I pod that I could barely hear the music, just the pounding. I like bass, but unless that's all you want to hear, then these are not for you. There were a comfortable fit, but the cord tangles easily.

I tried several different makes with "bass boosting" or "bass enhancing" designs and I was disappointed with the results. Too often, the other brands I tried just sounded muddled or they didn't fit my ears. I was not looking to spend a lot of money on a set of high end ear buds that I would need to worry about losing or ruining accidently.

1) Sounds good - bass seems to be good and the overall tone is fair too. However, they still do not surpass the sound quality of the Sony MDR-EX71s. 2) fit is good for small ears, but not perfect.

The interchangeable buds allowed me to finally find some earphones that not only fit in my ear but were not uncomfortable and stayed there while I exercise. All around decent product.

These "in-ear" buds are a good, low priced alternative to more expensive offerings. They come with three (3) differently sized pairs of soft rubber pieces that fit the buds into your ear. Be forewarned that these buds are designed for and do their best work when the soft rubber pieces fit snugly inside your ear, thus forming a seal that creates the solid bass notes lacking in other headphones.

Even though they supply three different cushions, the middle size still did not fit as well as the MDR-EX71s. So I swapped out the V-Moda's for the Sonys and they fit better...but the sound quality changed... It was interesting to note that the sound had a more bass and slightly muffled...so I kept the V-Moda's cushions on.

but these are great because they actually have nice bass (especially when you iPod EQ is on bass boost), fit nicely and are pretty durable. Also the silicon are hard to remove which is a major plus because I hate losing them. You can't go wrong with these, and they're only $30.

First, its fit is superior than any other earbud I tried. The material that gets inside your ear feels quite special, it somehow sticks to your ear and do not get out with movement. Yet, when you want to get it out, you get surprised with how easily you take it off.
