We love our Wii! We were able to find one right before Christmas, and have played it almost every day since. I think I actually play it more than my daughter!

As far as I'm concerned they own the 4 best gaming series in platforming history (3 being exclusive to Nintendo) Mario, Metroid, Resident Evil and Zelda.

I'm doing pretty good with Wii sports and the Wii Play games, and even our 5 year old daughter is holding her own on several of the games. We plan to add some more games to our collection - looking forward to the release of Wii Fit in (supposedly) May - which will give us even more playing options. I do recommend getting at least 1 more Wii-mote and Nunchuk combo so more than one person can play at a time.

Even with just the games that come with your initial purchase. This year I'm purchasing a second set of controllers so both children can play at the same time. This is also great exercise for everyone.

I'd seen a few Wii ads, read a few articles about the Wii, and even did a small amount of web research into the topic of Wii controllers, and still, I wasn't able to learn what I thought I needed to know.

The Wii has a hard drive so doesn't need a memory card, but if you do want to backup or transport your saved games, you can use a standard SD memory card. Yes, the Wii will play GameCube games, but you need all your old GameCube controllers and peripherals to do so.

It's very easy to learn how to use any of the controllers in just a few minutes usage, they're extremely intuitive. It's also trivially easy to understand the array of peripherals/controllers once you start using the system, plus, it's trivially easy to understand what controllers you need to play a game -- just look on the back of the box and there's a clear diagram.

I was used to button-based controllers from competing console systems. For example, with Mario Golf on the GameCube, I could hit a perfect drive easily.

Though online play with friends is great with the XBOX 360, I'm more of the type of guy who enjoys seeing the face of the person I am beating at tennis.

This is HILARIOUS, seeing a cartoon version of yourself bowling, in a boxing match, playing Golf (horribly) and volleying tennis balls.
