In fact it only hinders the gameplay with a poorly implemented trigger that doesn't feel as tight as actually pressing the B button on the wii remote yourself. I am astounded that Nintendo has the guts to release this for twenty dollars on the unsuspecting public. As for the game; Link's Crossbow Training will hold your interest for about five minutes you might as well just purchase Ghost Squard for thirty bucks and get a full game for the near 20 you'll spend for what barely amounts to a game and a useless hunk of junk.

One flaw that we noticed is that if you move your cursor too far to one side, it will come back on the other side of the screen. For instance, if your cursor is near the right side of the screen and you move further right, even though your zapper is still pointed to the right, your cursor will reappear on the left side. You have to do the reverse process to get it back in line.

the only problem is that as of right now, there are only 3 other games compatible with the zapper, and i was horribly disappointed with the use of the zapper with resident evil: umbrella chronicles. of course, after playing resident evil 4 and the Link's Crossbow training, umbrella chronicles is a sad disappointment either way.

This is extremely frustrating in a battle situation if you're reloading with someone coming at you.

The trigger button that hits the b button on the Wiimote doesnt have a spring loaded recoil, so pushing the button in is rather "mushy." Additionally the zapper is rather small for an adult to use. The crossbow training games are okay but not stellar. It would be better if Nintendo made a gun peripheral that could be used "point and shoot", but with the Wiimotes method of targetting that isn't possible now.

The top (face) buttons on the Wii remote are impossible to use while the Zapper is in normal use. You will have to hold it in an awkward manner to operate them. The transposed "B" button (the trigger) seems cheesy.

I hope that when Duck Hunt comes out for Virtual Console it'll also be compatible. I really don't have any complaints except that its so fun that I hope they make multiplayer games for it where you can have two or even more players play with it at the same time, not just one at a time!

I wouldn't buy plastic housing "Zapper" alone, but since it was packaged Link's Crossbow Training I bought it. The other plastic gun style housing are kind of a ripoff since they don't incorporate the nunchuk and don't have a game included. The two handed design allows for greater accuracy with out sacrificing speed.

I been playing with the Zapper for a few days (Umbrella and Link's Crossbow) and the first thing I noticed is that the right hand goes in front and the left hand in the back of the Zapper. For most of us that are right handed this can be awkward as with any type of gun/shotgun peripheral I feel compelled to have my right hand in the back and the left hand in front (If you don't believe me, pretend that you are holding a shotgun and see where your arms end up). I'm no expert but this just seems to feel more natural.

20 bucks not bad, I like it expect they need to make RE4 better by using something to press the "a" button taping the "a" button doesn't make sense I wish I could change it so I could use the "B" button!

I don't know how the price inflated to nearly $50 on Amazon, but you can get it for $20 + tax at your local retail stores such as Bestbuy, Target, Wal-Mart, etc. Anyway, I bought the Wii Zapper due to the fact that it is only $20 and it comes with Zelda Bow Crossing Game. I am pretty satisfied with the overall performance this product has brought for me.
