They gave me a work order number and asked that I send it to my local repair facility for repairs, but weren't sure that this was going to fix the problem. I asked if they were going to send me a pre-paid mailing lable and was informed that "NO We won't pay shipping to the repair facility, but we will repair it for free." I couldn't believe it, we paid 400.00 for this over priced gaming unit which worked for all of 5 days, only to be told that I had to pay shipping to have it repaired. You would think that a company as large as Microsoft, that makes as much money as they do would at least pay the shipping to warranty thier products.

So far, in two years, I have had to send in my Xbox 360 THREE times for repair; after the second repair, I was sent a refurbished replacement, then that one sputtered, ultimately being replaced by a brand new model. In fact, EVERYONE I know who has an Xbox 360 has experienced at least one repair for their machine, which is fairly outrageous. Yes, there is a three year warranty, which has covered all my repair costs, but the whole process of getting the 360 repaired is quite tedious and inconvenient, taking up to six weeks.

I called Amazon, explained the problem and within minutes had my return shipping lable emailed to me, and was told that they would exchange or refund the item (MY CHOICE) NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

We've had the XBox 360 a whole 6 weeks and the optical drive just failed. Called XBox support and they will be sending us a prepaid shipping box to return the unit for repairs. They estimate it will be 4 to 5 weeks from today before a repaired box is back in our hands.

My 360 died in 6 months. Out of 10 people I know with 360s, only 1 system hasn't died yet. Great games, great system (if it were not junk).

Im over that now. I was looking for HDMI and the new falcon chipset. At Gamestop, All the halo versions were the original 203watt power supplies (no way am I buying another known piece of junk).

They look cool and my old xbox 360 finally died. microsoft balked on the warrenty and wont repair it. I was surprised to find that MS tech support are complete idiots.

Also, it gets extremely hot, if not properly ventilated (the same goes for the PS3, for that matter) and it gets fairly noisy when running. It's hard to believe that all of these commonplace hardware malfunctions that the Xbox 360 has become infamous for was so easily missed by Microsoft's hardware QA division (in fact, I don't), and although all of today's gaming consoles have their pros and cons about them (incidentally, I enjoy all of them), it is a pretty big thing to take into consideration when buying one (although the three-year extended warranty covering the three-ring of death DOES take the sting out of it, somewhat; if only there had been such a deal on the PS2, which I had to replace a few times to shoddy design, as well). The newer Xbox 360's have purportedly rectified the issues that caused these malfunctions; only time will tell.

I wish the game system would have broken down 3 weeks earlier so we could have returned it back to Amazon and purchased a PS3!

I dont know if the three lights of death problem is the thermal issue or a different problem, but the second day of use the unit wouldn't power on. Three red lights in a circle blinking. Power cycled it a dozen times to no avail.

I do not play a lot of x-box and take really good care of it so it should have lasted longer. other then that the games look great on tv but there are very few 2 co-op games out there and it seems most games are sports, and war fighting type. not something I like to play.

So far I like the system I hate that not all orginal x-box games work on it. I have noticed that the wireless controller is not working wireless I have to keep it pluged in. I would have thought it would last at least a year.

This may or may not have contributed to my lack of problems, but I do recommend this accessory since it is only $20 and the additional ventilation can only help your console. My final word: If you are unwilling to take the chance of having to deal with a defective console, and there are no 360 games that you MUST play, then spend your gaming dollars elsewhere.

I like the Halo edition because it is the one that is updated, which is supposed to be less prone to problems than the first generation Xbox 360's. The design and color scheme are pretty cool on the Halo edition. I think it's a little weak that they have this whole Halo edition, and it doesn't come with Halo.

Was so excited to receive this console for Christmas... only to realize the darn thing doesn't even power on. This is a brand new system and much money was spent and when everything was connected--nothing.

The system has a seizure and takes way too long to complete downloading. I guess it could be because of traffic, but has that ever been a problem? I have tried downloading different types of free content just to see if one product was slower than another, and it all seems to have issues.

I know this has nothing to do with the actual Halo Xbox, but I thought I would mention it. After all it may be a big deal to some potential buyers. Plus it is a little noisy.

I hope this one last longer then a year. FYI: any xbox you buy, your pretty much getting ripped off and screwed. I should have bought the PS3 to begin but sony and wii dont have all the phat games either.

i have the newer model batch #734 with the rumored chip i have not ahd the ring of death but i hope i dont. the play and charge thing only charges while the console is on but what i realized you can plug it into ur PC while ur using it and it wall charge or since i have a wii i plug it into the back of the wii and it charges while the wii is off. i have Halo 3, gears of war, (wats really cool i think ihave the first ones that were ever made, u kno on the spine of the case at the extreme bottom you have these numbers but i have 00001 for both of them.

The ps3 Motorstorm version comes with, guess what, Motorstorm. This package does not come with HDMI cable connections. You have to buy that separately.

He played it a total of 5 times and the unit locked up. After a couple of grueling conversations with Microsoft it was determined that the power converter was bad.

Unplugged the cord, waited, replugged, nothing. Then about 15 minutes later my son tried it and it did power on, very bizarre.
