After I unplugged the ipod, unplugged the unit, and then put it all back together, the only sound I could get from the unit was a faint buzzing noise. The blue light was still working, but it's not that cool. There are some obvious quality control issues here, and I'm returning this product and will ensure that I go with a name brand product.

The quality of the main dock is not bad at all. Fit and finish is on par with the more expensive docks, however, the remote is absolute garbage. By no means is this a terrible dock physically, but the sound quality has left a lot to be desired in my opinion.

Within the video settings, there is an option for TV Out. The fifth generation iPod video and fourth generation iPod with color display would allow you to turn this function On to output the video (or just photos on the fourth generation iPod) from your device to be played on your television. Within these new iPods, this function is not available unless the iPod detects that it is connected to a device that meets this hardware requirement."

Beware that this unit does not recognize iPod Touch video out. This fact is buried in the faq section of their web site. And the remote is very limited, the same as it seems for even Apple's own remote.

Just in case there was an issue with her IPod we had a friend of hers bring her IPod over and the results were the same. The best part of this item was Amazon's return policy. No hassle or fuss and she's looking at another system to use her IPod with.

Finally volume went on, but after about five seconds of play the volume decreased BY ITSELF to inaudible range. This occurred repeatedly...

I would say buy it if you plan on sticking it in the garage, or other work area, but don't use it as your main external speaker source for the ipod if it's going into the living room, or somewhere other people might hear it.
